The Google Android 8.0 has brought with itself, many new
upgrades and features. But there is a major bug in the operating system. Know
all about it.
Android Oreo is still not widely available in most devices
as of now. While the Android 8 arrived for the Nexus and Pixel devices, now a
OnePlus 3 closed beta group has received the latest update. While others wait
for the latest Android OS to arrive in their smartphones, it should be noted
that a bug associated with the new platform has been witnessed. According to a
few people who have used Android Oreo, an issue has cropped up when the latest
update was installed on their phones. After downloading the new Android OS,
people have found that the mobile data in their mobiles were working even while
the WiFi has been switched off. While this may not look like a big problem on
paper, it can have a big effect on internet data.
This report came to light when a person on Reddit, called as
‘Unusual_Sauce’ wrote on the website that while using the latest version of
Google’s mobile platform, the mobile data on the phone soar very high even
while he/she was connected to the Wi-Fi. The report was first pointed out by
tech website 9To5Google. Some of the other users on Reddit have noted that the
Android 8.0 Oreo update causes the “mobile data always active” setting placed
under Developer Options to switch on, according to the report. Since this
setting was disabled by default previously, an issue might have been occurring.
Android Oreo: List of
smartphones to get the new OS, check if your mobile is on the list
This change in settings has lead to the mobile data ben
effectively active even when a smartphone is connected to a working Wi-Fi
network. However, you do have the option to disable the setting by going to the
Developer Options. Meanwhile, the Redditor has said that when Google as
contacted, the company said that it was aware of the issue and has been working
on fixing the same. If you one of the
peple who do not have unlimited data plans on your phone, this new issue in
Oreao can result in a massive monthly bill and hence the need for a quick fix.
