iOS 11.01 out now for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch with bug fixes and improvements

Just a week after iOS 11 was rolled out, Apple has already released an incremental update to what we called the best update to iOS in years. iOS 11.01 brings with it a host of bug fixes and improvements and is amongst the fastest bug fixing update to have ever been rolled out by the Cupertino tech giant.

iOS 11.01 is approximately 280 MB in size which is pretty hefty for a .01 update. Apple's change log is pretty sparse and does not give much details regarding the bugs squashed by the update. The log reads as follows - "iOS 11.0.1 includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone or iPad."

Apple support documentation however does reveal one juicy tidbit. iOS 11.01 apparently addresses the Exchange server issues that many people were experiencing with iOS 11. Many users with an Outlook.com, Office 365 or Exchange 2016 email account were not able to send mails using iOS 11's default email application. They were getting a rather annoying "Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server." error.
To download the update on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch (Kudos to you if you are still rocking an iPod) head over to Settings > General > Software Update. It is always recommended you back up your data to iCloud before installing any update and make sure your battery is atleast 50 per cent charged.

iOS 11 is a great update for the iPhone and an extremely comprehensive update for the iPad that in many ways changes how it is used. iOS 11 brings with a new file manager app called simply called Files, a visual overhaul for all first party apps including Photos, Mail and the App Store, new Photos and Camera features such as Loop  and Bounce effects for Live Photos and an all new Control Centre that is customisable and collated in one single page.

With iOS 11, the lock screen and Notification Centre have also seen a change - they are now a single unit. iOS 11 also brings many new productivity features for the iPad such as split view drag and drop functionality, the ability to open two tabs in Safari side by side and a customisable dock all aimed at making multi-taking on the tablet much easier than before.
