Apple iPhone 8 is not new to the leaks, but no render has
revealed the upcoming iPhone in such detail as the latest one. The video, which
shows what is believed to be the dummy model of the iPhone 8 reveals every
design element of the device. From edge-to-edge display to the glass back, the
video gives a closer look at the tenth-anniversary special iPhone edition. The
iPhone 8 model in the video has been designed keeping all the leaks and renders
in mind and it is models like these that help case-makers design the cases for
the device before the smartphone is launched.
The video was created by YouTuber Marques Brownlee and the
iPhone 8 dummy model was provided to him by Sonny Dickson, the popular tech
tipster. The first thing noticed in the video is that the smartphone will come
with an edge-to-edge display with higher screen to body ratio. Along with
negligible side bezels, the top and bottom bezels are done away with too. The
smartphone comes with a 2.5D curved glass, and features a top cutout for the
front camera and the sensors. Apart from the earpiece grille and the front
camera, there is also another sensor prominently displayed – likely to be the
facial recognition scanner. Apple iPhone 8 is rumored to come with a feature to
help the user unlock the device even if it is on a table – without touching the
phone at all.
Clearly, there is no home button below the display. The
entire smartphone looks compact compared to the iPhone 7 Plus. As it is all
glass and display with no bezels the device looks extremely small despite
having the same display size as the iPhone 7 Plus. On the back of the
smartphone is the vertical dual rear camera setup with the flash module placed
between the camera lenses. The back is
completely bare except for the camera module and the Apple logo, and it
is covered in glass confirming that Apple iPhone 8 will most likely support
wireless charging.
As the smartphone is only a dummy model, there is no idea of
how the device will work. But the video has tried to give a fair idea of what
the home-screen will look like. The status bar on the top will be split into
two – with the top bezel cut out in the center. The battery and the timing will
be on the right edge whereas the signal and notification icons will be on the
left. Unfortunately, the video does not give any idea of where the fingerprint
scanner will be placed under the display and how will it function.
Apple iPhone 8 components have recently entered mass
production as per latest reports, hinting that the smartphone will be on time
for the September launch. Apple iPhone 8 will compete with the Samsung Galaxy
Note 8. The iPhone 8 will be a premium device with many analysts suggesting
that the device will be priced well over $1,000 (approximately Rs 63,700) for
the base model. Along with the iPhone 8, Apple is also expected to announce the
iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus in September.
