Samsung has launched a new Galaxy J-series phone with
dual-camera system. This is Samsung's second phone with two cameras at its
rear, with the first one being the Galaxy Note 8. The Galaxy J7+ has been
launched only in Thailand for now. The phone, which seemingly is a successor to
the Galaxy J7 (2017) and Galaxy J7 Pro, is expected to arrive in India in the
coming months.
The dual camera system, although in the name similar to that
of the Galaxy Note 8 camera system, differs significantly in its hardware
compared to what Samsung has put in its flagship phone. The Galaxy J7+ is a
budget phone. Its dual-came system uses two image sensors -- one a 13-megapixel
sensor and other a 5-megapixel sensor.
The Galaxy J7+ has a lot in common with its siblings Galaxy
J7 (2017) and J7 Pro, but also differs in a few aspect. On the display front,
all the three phones seem to have quite a lot in common. The newly-launched
Galaxy J7+ comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD Super AMOLED display. It boasts of an
aluminum body, which may help the phone stand apart in the market in terms of
its looks and design.
The smartphone doesn't come with an Exynos chipset like the
Galaxy J7 (2017) and J7 Pro. Instead, the new Galaxy J7+ is powered by a
MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. It comes with 4GB RAM
memory coupled with 32GB, which seems quite generous and definitely much better
than 16GB that we are used to seeing in budget Samsung phones. The phone
supports microSD card and you can add up to 256GB extra storage through one.
Coming to the camera set-up, the Galaxy J7+ sees a major
improvement on the optical front. The smartphone comes with two cameras at the
rear. It comes with a combination of 13-megapixel coupled with a f/1.7 aperture
lens and 5-megapixel sensor which is paired with a f/1.9 lens. The secondary
camera of the phone is dedicated to producing bokeh-effect. The phone also
comes with the camera app feature that allows users to adjust the focus of the
picture after the image has been clicked. On the front, the Galaxy J7+ comes
with a 16-megapixel selfie shooter that has been paired with a f/1.9 lens.
Apart front the camera, another noticeable change that the
new J series phone sees in comparison to the J7 (2017) and J7 Pro is in its
battery department. The Galaxy J7+ is backed by a 3,000mAh, while the other two
J7 series phone come with a 3600mAh battery set-up.
Samsung Galaxy J7+ comes with a fingerprint sensor that is
placed in the home button. It also comes with an always on display and a Bixby
Home app. The smartphone uses modified Android Nougat operating system.
The Galaxy J7+ comes with a price tag of THB 12,900, which
roughly translates to Rs 24,900. The Galaxy J7+ was announced on Saturday and
is already up for pre-orders. The smartphone is expected to go on sale starting
September 18, but only in Thailand for now.
